Reusch Raptor Pro Aqua Ortho-Tec Goalkeeper Glove
Aqua TecTM was developed by Reusch specifically for rainy conditions on the field of play. The material on the palm of the glove is made from a special adhesive latex foam and is “hydrophilated” which is a special process developed by Reusch. The latex is enhanced with millions of “Hydrograins”. When these grains come into contact with water, they move to the surface of the foam. The grains will then emit very small latex “hairs” which will expand the surface area of the foam and allows for better adhesion between the ball and the glove, which is critical under wet conditions . It is important to remember that when you are selecting your Soccer Goalie Glove that as you get under $100 there will noticeable differences between their more expensive counterparts. The overall support quality of the less expensive gloves decreases. Some gloves will be made from natural latex while others will be manufactured from synthetic, changing the quality and overall feel of the glove. Other gloves foam and cushion will not be as thick which means they will lose their elasticity more quickly and therefore will not last as long. In order to put out a less expensive glove, you may also lose the support in the fingers, including spine protectors behind each finger.
